It is one of those rare Friday mornings when the gods of the roads come out for their periodical traffic festival. It is bumper-to-bumper stuff here. Blame the rains last night.

Away from the traffic, it is all about Ozil the magnificent. If you haven’t seen his goal in Bulgaria then I wonder if you are in the Milky Way because even the aliens in Jupiter were wowed by that goal. Haters will hate but true apostles of football know it was a peach of a goal and the topmost on Matchday 4 of the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League.

The week had other exciting happenings. Leicester City continued their fairytale in Europe with a 4th straight clean sheet, Spurs stuttered at Wembley, and Real Madrid were held 3-3 at Legia Warsaw. With 2 matches left to play, the following teams have qualified for the knockout stage: Arsenal, PSG, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borrusia Dortmund

Chippa United’s Daniel Akpeyi have been invited as a replacement to injured Carl Ikeme. The Wolves goalie has been a revelation for the Super Eagles since Vincent Enyeama hung his international gloves. Rohr would need to decide if he would rely on Akpeyi or FC IfeanyiUbah’s Ikechukwu Ezenwa who was brilliant in the NPFL-La Liga tourney.

The 2016 Federation Cup would be rounded up on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos. We have two new finalists fighting for the only available silverware left in the Nigerian season. FC IfeanyiUbah would hope to take their new dominance to Africa but must beat Nasarawa United to achieve their dreams. Nasawara United on the other hand had a taste of the continent early in the season. They would love to give it another try. It promises to be a wonderful clash.

In the Women Federation Cup, Rivers Angels will be hoping to be the most successful side in the tournament by winning a 7th title. They are currently joint best with Pelican Stars but have won all but one of the Federation Cups since 2010. They would trade tackles with Bayelsa Queens who are yet to win the Cup and have lost in at least 6 previous finals. They would love to break the jinx.

The North London Derby is the talk of Europe. In-form Arsenal will host unbeaten Tottenham at the Emirates. It promises to be an exciting one. Will there be goals? Will Cazorla and Bellerin be fit enough? The Gunners are hopeful. Can we have another Ozil-ic moment.

This traffic seems endless. Time to watch that goal by Ozil again.

Enjoy.
