7:45pm GMT on tuesday night was awaited by all followere of the quartet of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Everton in their bid to secure the uncertain 3rd and 4th spot that guarantees champions League football.
The odds and result were against the toffees from the blue half of Liverpool. But, playing against Everton is a fixture that noone takes likely, be you Fergie or the Money One (Mourinho). Moyes has never beaten Wenger in the League and the trend was expected to continue.
Szczesny returned in goal, Metersacker was back to his defensive duties, Walcott and Wilshere started while Rosicky and Gervinho made do with the bench.
Everton were tough last night, they played so physical in the midfield that they were lucky to finish the game with 10men. Fellani, Anichebe, Mirallis and Gibson stamped their authority with their physicality.
By 9:45pm, the game had ended in an exciting yet unsatisfying stalement with chances missed on both sides. The table looks same as before but arsenal look disadvantaged to remain 3rd with chelsea 2 points adrift with 2 games in hand against Fulham (tonight) and Spurs. Everton remains 4points away.
We got no goal, one point but i got so many questions that i cant fully answer. They are:
1. What is wrong with Giroud? Why miss so many chances? Would he fulfil the Arsenal dream? Can we look at Podolski, Chuba Akpom, Bendtner? We need a top 9.
2. Did the referee misplace his cards? Why overlook so many fouls? Why is Gibson still on the pitch?
3. Is Wilshere fit? Is he better than Rosicky in the attacking midfield? Why bench TR7? JW10 was below par last night
4. Is Sagna scared of going forward? Most of his passes were backward. Has he lost his crossing skills?
5. When would Walcott score? I await his goals. Did he sign not to score in his new contract?
6. Isnt Koscienly our best CB? He is rock solidly tenacious, making decisive tackles, winning duels and pushing forward.
7. Has Ramsey turned the corner? Where are the boo boys and haters? He has been superb since the Munich incomplete Miracle: winning duels, tackling, shedding, running, passing. I wish he scores soon. MOTM. The new Arsenal engine.
Enough on questions, we must win Fulham on Saturday to stamp our authority and authenticate our desire to be in the Champions League next season.
