Yaya Sanogo’s “adventure” with Arsenal have come to an end. The striker said to L’Equipe: “I’m free. The adventure ends”.

The young French striker couldn’t make the ranks at the Emirates in a short stay that was limited by Injuries since joining from Auxerre in 2013.

The highlight of Sanogo’s Arsenal career will be the four goals he scored in the 2014 Emirates Cup against Benfica. He got himself injured during the celebration of one of the goals – most likely the fourth. With 20 appearances, he scored only one competitive goal for Arsenal. The goal came in a Champions League group game against Borussia Dortmund at the Emirates in November 2014.

Clumsy and with a heavy touch, I never saw him breaking into the team. With an FA Cup medal or two, he can look for another club in the summer. What was Wenger thinking?

Sad news filtered from China that former Newcastle player Cheick Tiote collapsed in training with his club Beijing Enterprises and was confirmed dead after being rushed to the hospital. Sad stuff.

I appeal to you my friends to take your health serious. Do regular medical checkups. Early detection helps survival. It is sad that a 30 year old is gone due to heart failure. Africans have lost so many players to heart failures on the pitch. The best I remember of Tiote is his goal against Arsenal in that Newcastle 4-4 draw in the Premier League.

RIP Tiote.
