The long waited draws for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia were held today. The 32 teams finally knew the teams they would need to battle against in order to make the last 16.

For the fifth time in six World Cup appearances, Nigeria will face Argentina in the group stage. The duo were grouped alongside Croatia and Iceland in Group D.

The Super Eagles recently defeated Argentina 4-2, coming from 2 goals down in an international friendly in Krasnodar but have never beaten the South American in a competitive game.

Nigeria will play Croatia 1st on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium before facing Iceland at the Volgograd Arena in 6 days time. 4 days later, the Eagles will round up their group matches against Argentina at Saint Petersburg Stadium.

Host nation Russia will have the opening ceremony in their favour as they would have Saudi Arabia as their opponent to kick-start the 2018 world cup in group A. Egypt and Uruguay make up the group.
