Arsenal concluded the Asia Tour 2013 with a Saitama City Cup clash against Japanese side Urawa Reds at Saitama Stadium on Friday afternoon. The gunners have had a 100% winning record prior to this clash and they, as expected, wanted to finish with that record.
A goalless 1st half with the woodwork denying Arsenal on various occasions, the second half was brought to life with the Arsenal goal by Podolski. Four minutes after coming on, the German international grabbed his goal from a layback from Theo Walcott.
Urawa reds did equalize minutes later from a corner kick. With the game seemingly heading to a draw, a miss-up betwen the goalie and defender of Urawa Reds thanks to an Aaron Ramsey lofted pass gifted Chuba Akpom the chance to put Arsenal ahead. Yes, he scored. Scoring that goal wasnt as easy as i type. Walcott and Chamberlain would rue their chances but a 2-1 Victory was enough.
This notably the toughest test of the Asia Tour. And I hear we the third european side to win the Saitama Cup. Are we still trophyless? **dodges, ask Wenger** Manchester United and David Moyes are struggling to win a match.
So we head out of Asia to the Emirates stadium for the Emirates Cup. In a weeks time we face Napoli and Higuan. would we have a Luiz with us? I am still baffled at the £40,000,001 bid. I would welcome Suarez, even if he bites.
