Football is brutally unfair. We had the chance to kill a game that had slipped out of our arms but the rest is history. Arteta’s miss doomed us to a 3-3 draw at the emirates.Oliver Giroud scored a brace and Podolski scored but Berbatov braced up as well and assisted another.

The infamous miss

We haven’t beaten Fulham for a while now and Martin Jol is not making it rosy. Wenger finds it difficult to win this gaffer. Below are my summary of the fulham-ness:

  1. We really do miss Gibbs. Since the injury of Gibbs against Westham, arsenal has struggled at the back. Deputy Santos has performed far below expectation and Captain Vermaleen has been erratic to say the least. We need this Englishman back!!
  2. Manonne is average. Goalies are paid to make saves, which he has done. But he still lacks something I can’t express in English. Scz will always provide a top of the drawer save. Thank God the Pole is back.
  3. Where are Diaby and Rosicky? Our first loss of the season came when perennial injury FC midfielder hopped out of that Chelsea game. Since then we have wobbled and fumbled. Rosicky’s drive and trickery has been missed enough. I hear he has started training.
  4. Oliver wants more. Giroud promised more goals and he didn’t fail. A brace was great and a hat-trick would have been superb. 6 goals and 5 assists in 10 starts isn’t that bad.
  5. Penalties. We have clamoured all day long for a penalty at the emirates or for the team. We have whined about we not given penalties and behold we were given a glorious chance. I didn’t want Giroud to take it because I was scared he would miss it. I never expected Arteta to miss. Unhappy about the overall effect.
  6. Arsene’s Worst Start: this is Arsene Wenger worst start to the Premier League since he took charge at Arsenal. It is even Arsenal’s worst premier League start since the 1982/83 season.16 points just betters the gunners’ 14 points in 10 games in 1982.

So, we are 11 points behind leaders Manchester United after 10 games. We have conceded 11 goals and are 8th on the table just better than Fulham on goal difference.

We face spurs next weekend. I hope we come back from the FIFA break to take the league by storm. Remember the 5pur2 encounter.

We are going through a torrid moment, but I am a gooner till the earth turns flat.
