European football came to an end for the season with Real Madrid winning the UEFA Champions league. But the major attention shifts to preparation for the Brazil 2014 Worldcup.

Nigeria, one of 5 African teams going to the Worldcup had their first friendly game before the mundial at Craven Cottage against Scotland.

The African Champions came from a goal down, twice to avoid defeat to Scotland. Charlie Mulgrew had flicked home the opener but Micheal Uchebo opened his Nigerian account equalizing towards the half time thanks to a deflection.

Emmanuel Egwuekwe turned into his net in the 52nd minute to give Scotland the lead but a late lack of concentration in the Scottish box gifted Uche Nwofor the equalizer in the 90th minute.

Stephen Keshi featured a disjointed team mostly made up of players vying to make the 23man final list going to Brazil.

The  Super Eagles’ flat footed defence raises a lot of questions. Returning captain Yobo, playing his 96th game for the Eagles didn’t show enough to usurp the 1st team pair of Emeruo and Obaobuna. Egwuekwe’s heavy touches and stiffness was worse. Home based Odunlami didn’t fare well at right back. The center back was stretched off in tears due to injury.

In the midfield, Micheal Uchebo had a lot of drive, pace and energy but he has to do better to link up with his team mates. His desire to shoot paid off with his defelected goal. Will Babatunde be in Brazil?

Shola Ameobi led the attack and showed glimpse of experience yet he missed chances to put the Super Eagles ahead. Uche Nwofor scored the equalizer thanks to his better agility and hunger. One of Ameobi and Oduamadi may not be in Brazil.

Osaze returned, Moses entered the fray but their impact didnt provide any goal. Rangers Uzoenyi started but he had chances flying over the bar.

The Eagles must prepare well for the Worldcup. Argentina is noe Ethiopia. The games against Greece and USA should be the final opportunity to choose the final 23.

As for this Scotland game, it is just a game. So much pace and strength. Hope we learn and forge a good team. No time for experiments.
