I don’t know how he does it but Alexis Sanchez is a hell of player. The Chilean got a brace last night in Chile’s 3-1 victory over Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier.
There were fears especially from the red part of North London about a hamstring injury but his national coach maintained that he was 100% fit for the clash. He took the challenge and made every Chilean happy.
There will be immeasurable amount of relief from Arsenal and the fans who feared for the worst. The workaholic Sanchez played for 84 minutes and is most likely doing his 2000th press-up on the plane to London. Crazy fella. He is not made of flesh and blood but of Iron, diamond and some matter from Jupiter.
He believes in himself so much. He most likely must have jogged to the airport after the clash and will jog from the London airport to his house in London to take a walk with his dogs. Does he sleep? maybe an hour a day. The Red Devils are shaking now. The Arsenal medical team will surely check him out before he features on Saturday.
In other matches, Brazil defeated Peru 2-0 and Argentina turned their qualifiers around with a 3-0 victory over Colombia. Joel Campbell grabbed a brace as Costa Rica thrashed USA 4-0 in the CONCACAF region but Mexico were held to a 0-0 draw in Panama. In Europe, England let a 2-0 lead slip away in the last 2 minutes of their friendly against Spain. The game ended 2-2.
That sums up the international break for the year till the 2017 AFCON. Nigeria will face Canada in the ongoing u-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea this morning. I hope they get all three points.
