No one was throwing tantrums – on the pitch I mean. Maybe in the bathroom or at home but Giroud grabbed another vital goal in added minutes on Saturday as Arsenal came from behind to defeat Preston North End in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Gunners went down in the first half and looked like a makeshift amateur team as Preston created chances upon chances. How they were able to just score one in the first half is still unclear. Lucky Arsenal. Arsenal’s passes were poor and defending was poo poo. Niles was miles away and the real Monreal was no where to be found. Ramsey was Ramsey, making a mess of simple things.

Whatsoever that happened in the break was good. The Gunners raced off the blocks with Ramsey latching on to a pass from Iwobi after the Nigerian held the Preston defence in awe. It was redemption for Ramsey who was poor in the first 45 minutes.

Welbeck came in for a poor Ox but it was Giroud who was to give Wenger the smile. Lucas Perez’s back-heel was tucked in beautifully by the in-form Giroud. Is he blessed by the lord? It would have been an extra game if the game ended 1-1. No one would love that.

I am excited for Giroud and happy to see him score vital goals. He has taken a lot of sticks from the fans but he is responding with the goals. Great to see Welbeck back. Holding and Reine-Adelaide came in for Niles and Perez in added time. Hopefully Ramsay and Xhaka are rested because they are all we have in the middle.

In other FA Cup fixtures, Liverpool will need a replay with Plymouth Argre after a goalless encounter at Anfield. Manchester City went haywire against West Ham 5-0 while Manchester United were 4-0 winners over Reading. Ahmed Musa grabbed a brace as Leicester City came from behind to defeat Everton at Goodison Park. It was also a debut for Nigerian Ndidi.

Enjoy the victory Gunners.  Who is next?
