Arsenal cruised through to the 5th round of the Emirates FA Cup after a 5-0 demolition of Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.

It was the 1st of Wenger’s 4 match ban but it ended up being a perfect display from the Gunners. There were 10 changes but the sight of Mustafi on the pitch signified that the Gunners will emerge victorious. He is yet to lose a game with the team. Other starters included Ospina, Gibbs, Bellerin, Holding, Niles, The Jeff, Ox, Lucas, Walcott and Welbeck who made his first start since May 2016.

Danny Welbeck scored a brace in the first half to begin the rout. His first in the 15th was a chip clipped in by the crossbar assisted by Lucas Perez. Chamberlain’s over-the-head pass was guided in by DAT Guy in the 22nd minute for the second.

Then came Three’o Walcott. He reacted faster in the 36th minute to poke in Arsenal’s third from Welbeck’s cut-back after a beautiful pass from Lucas Perez. His second came in the 69th minute, assisted by substitute Sanchez but pre-assisted by Lucas Perez again.

Theo Walcott grabbed his hat-trick and made it 5-0 to Arsenal in the 84th via an Alexis assist.

A clean sheet and wonderful display, the Gunners defeated Southampton without Koscielny, Coquelin and Ozil. The Saints have proved difficult to crack in recent time but on Saturday they fell like a pack of cards.

Wenger was excited for Welbeck, Walcott and the young gunners who assisted in the midfield. But why bring on Alexis to kill off the Saints. Wicked.

There were wins for Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham – late win though. Leicester City would need a replay but the shock of the weekend should be the exit of Liverpool from the FA Cup by Wolves. It was a third consecutive home loss for the Reds. Blame Gerrard, Klopp or Mane.

Speaking of Mane, his pillows were soaked last night as his missed penalty kick resulted in the exit of Senegal from the Africa Nations Cup. Cameroon won 5-4 on penalties to progress to the semifinal. Burkina Faso defeated Tunisia 2-0 in the other quarterfinal of the day.

The last four would be completed today in Gabon but don’t forget the NPFL Matchday 5 today 4pm. It is getting hotter.
