Hello from the Silver City. It’s been cold and windy down here but the locals say it is the best weather around. They are happy and enjoying the best of the weather but I am more interested in what happens on the football pitch.

Last night, Arsenal were 3-0 winners over West ham. It was a London derby and the Gunners needed to respond positively if they were to keep up with the top four challenge.

On Sunday, they could not go past Manchester City. That game ended 2-2 with Mustafi grabbing the equalizer for Arsenal. Sadly, Wenger lost Koscielny and Gabriel stepped in well. We didn’t ship in 4 goals though, thankfully.

So, last night Walcott played his 200th Emirates game and was involved all through. Mesut Ozil grabbed his 10th goal of the season with the opener of the game. The opening goal came in second half and was followed minutes later with a goal from Walcott assisted by the German. That was Theo’s second in two games.

Olivier Giroud came in for Welbeck and made the game 3-0 to Arsenal and impossible for West ham to turn it around. Yes, Giroud didn’t celebrate, there is more to be done. Until that is achieved celebrating will be immature. He may be sad that he has been left on the bench but he has been a super sub. Hasn’t he? Martinez kept a clean sheet in the absence of Ospina and Cech. He should continue. Thanks.

Arsenal move back to 5th with two games in hand. Manchester City lost 2-1 to emerging champions Chelsea. Swansea capitulated in the last 9 minutes by conceding 3 late goals to lose to Tottenham. King silenced Anfield with a late equalizer to make it 2-2.

The chase is on.

Oh… Xhaka got no yellow card.
