2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Ball winner, Kelechi Nwakali has been left out of Arsenal’s pre-season tour to Australia and China. His omission may not be unconnected to his inability to get a work permit after spending last season on loan to MVV Maastricht where he scored twice in 30 appearances.

His compatriot, Chuba Akpom was also omitted. Akpom, a regular member of Arsenal’s pre-season tours, may need to sort out his feature as breaking into the first team is like cracking the Da Vinci Code with the arrival of Lacazette.

Wojciech Szczesny, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez, Carl Jenkinson and Gedion Zelalem aren’t included. Jack Wilshere is still injured and Jeff Reine-Adelaide isn’t yet fully fit. Alexis and Mustafi would be on holidays. I pray Szczesny is not sold.

On the two weeks tour, the team would play a total of four matches:

  • Vs Sydney FC on July 13 (Sydney)
  • Vs Western Sydney Wanderers on July 15 (Sydney)
  • Vs Bayern Munich on July 19 (Shanghai)
  • Vs Chelsea on July 22 (Beijing)
