Arsenal travelled to the Scandinavia and defeated Ostersunds FK 3-0 at their Swedish backyard.
With no involvement in the weekend’s FA cup schedule, Wenger featured a strong side and they didn’t sweat. Goals from Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil and an own goal gave the Gunners the win.
Clean Sheet Thanks to Ospina
David Ospina caught a last minute penalty to deny Ostersunds any life line and earn Arsenal a clean sheet ahead of the second leg. Bellerin conceded the foul in the box but Ospina guessed right and denied Petterson from the spot.
It is unusual to see an Arsenal goalie saving a penalty. Should that be enough to have Ospina feature in the next Premier League game or the Carabao Cup final?
What is a Welbeck?
Watching Welbeck play now is becoming annoying. Giroud won’t be as clumsy as that. How did we loan out Lucaz Perez and keep Welle? Oh, Chuba Akpom was on song yesterday. With Lacazette’s injury and Aubameyang’s ineligible, Arsenal will need the best of thr former Manchester united man in the Europa League.
The Rest and Rested
Wilshere was rested for the game and watched from London. El Neny put in a good shift. Mesut Ozil scored. Mkhitaryan had two more assists to his tally on his Europa League debut for Arsenal. It could have been 6-0 but for the missed chances.
Our next match is same Ostersunds. It should be an easy tie. Don’t be surprise to se Eddie start.
