Arsenal came from behind to defeat Southampton 3-2 at the Emirates. Shane Long drew first blood in the 17th minute after Mustafi switched off. And then the Welbeck Show began.
The Welbeck Show
Welbeck’s flick needed Aubameyang’s toe poke for the equalizer in the 28th minute. 10 minutes later, Welbeck got a goal for himself – his first Premier League goal in ages.
Charlie Austin continued his scoring run against Arsenal in the 73rd minute, but Welbeck was not done with his day. Dat Guy missed an open goal before planting Iwobi’s cross 9 minutes from time into the net for the winner.
Win! Win!! Win!!!
Few weeks ago the Gunners were tumbling down the hill with 4 consecutive loses. Today they are on a 6 match winning streak with 3+ goals in each of the last five matches.
Three against Watford, three against AC, three against Stoke City, four against CSKA Moscow and three against Southampton. Who is next?
Brace! Brace!! Brace!!!
It is a period of braces for Arsenal. From Aubameyang (vs Stoke) to Lacazette & Ramsey (vs CSKA Moscow) and to Danny Welbeck against Southampton. In three consecutive Arsenal matches there have been at least a brace in each of the matches.
Goals have a way of boosting the confidence of the team and the strikers especially. More goals please.
Yea, Alex Iwobi got two assists. Yipee
