Arsenal have at least four more matches to the end of this season. This could increase to five if the Gunners reach the Europa League final. Everyone is pondering at Arsenal’s chances of featuring in the UEFA Champions League next season.
With two matches left to play in the Premier League, the Gunners don’t have their fate in their hands. Three leagur matches ago it was rosy but with no points from the last available nine points and nine goals conceded, Emery’s army gave the reins to Chelsea and Spurs to finish ahead.

Arsenal want to be in the Champions League next season. The Premier League and Europa League provide the routed to achieve the target. The Gunners find themselves in almost the same position as last season – struggling for top four and in the Europa League semi final.
Valencia stands in Emery’s way to win the Europa League – the most probable chance of playing in the bigger league next season. The first leg is on Thursday at the Emirates. The Gunners must make this first leg count if their is anything left to salvage.
Much as the season has had its ups and downs, Arsenal and the fans will be happy returning to the Champions League. Finishing in top four and winning the Europa would look like an upgrade to last season but other stats suggest otherwise.
Will Emery get his tactics right to see the season through? The three consecutive defeats to Palace, Wolves and Leicester has dampened the morale of the team. They need to step up.
Arsenal need to step up or risk finishing 6th without even winning the Europa League. If this happens, it would be a bold call for the Arsenal board to keep the Spanish Coach. Else, he needs money for the transfer window.
