In high school, a swarm of bees camped at the entrance of one of the hostels and caused all manner of nuisance for the Junior boys that day.
We used pebbles to disorganise their makeshift nest until they flew away. But we didn’t go unharmed. A good number of the boys got stung.
Last night, Arsenal started their Europe-less Premier League season with a 2-0 defeat at newly promoted Brentford.
It was a like a team that travelled by bus from playing a 5th place team in the Scandinavian in the Europa League on Saturday.
The absence of Lacazette and Aubameyang may be an excuse but thus is just the 39th fixture from last season. No improvement. Just continous degradation.
Arsenal’s offensive outlet was Tierney on the left, yet most of his crosses were not met by any of his teammates.
Calum Chambers, Leno and new boy White could have done better for the first goal. The second goal was just atrocious. I couldn’t believe it.
Pepe drew a save from Raya after Tierney found him with a perfect cross. Smith-Rowe had a tame short saved but had 95% pass accuracy. Balogun’s runs were not identified by the team. Yet, he was a touch away from having a shot on target.
Lokonga was composed. Xhaka was Xhaka. Martinelli didn’t spark as much as expected. Mari was 2nd best in almost all foot race.
It was a poor start to the season and it shows that nothing has changed. There is no confidence from the goalie and with Auba & Laca also set to miss Chelsea’s visit, the Gunners may not pick up a point from their first three matches of the Premier League season.
For the neutrals, everyone loves the underdog.
Time to focus on FPL till Arsenal wakes up.
