Emile Smith Rowe’s second half strike gave Arsenal a 1-0 victory as Arteta marked his 100th game in charge of the club.
Arsenal started the game with high intensity, just like they had done in previous games. In the 5th minute, Saka tucked the ball into the net after Aubameyang failed to control the ball in the box. The goal was ruled out for offside.
Danny Rose flung an arm at Lacazette, giving away a penalty but Aubameyang missed from the spot for the umpteenth time this season.
With so much aggression especially from the visitors, the two sides got 2 yellow cards each in the first half.
In the second half, Arsenal continued knocking. Ben White ran through the yellow walls of Watford, the ball fell to Smith Rowe who fired past Ben Forster.
Arsenal almost made it 2-0 when sub Odegaard’s shot was toed in by Aubameyang who was in an offside position. The captain was apologetic to the Norwegian as the original shot was going in.
Ramsdale almost gifted Watford an equalizer but Joshua King is no Nwankwo Kano. His shot could only hit the side netting.
The Gunners have now gone 10 matches unbeaten so far and are just 2 points below Liverpool who are in 4th.
