Finally the new season has begun, albeit without the matches but in concept and ideality and thus paper work and signatures have been ravaging the bank cheques for new players, one of which The Arsenal have captured on the first day of the season.Arsenal.com announced that Arsenal have signed Yaya Sanogo for a long term undisclosed fee as usual from AJ Auxerre. It didn’t take me by surprise but I still maintain my indifference over the signing of this wenger-like purchases.

I am not moved by his boyhood records nor his U20 or Junior goals and rates because Arsenal isn’t an under 17 club. Nevertheless 21 appearances in 3 seasons isn’t a good record even if scoring 10 in those 21 appearances looks good. Don’t be deceived, he scored 4 of those 10 goals in one match. My worry goes to his Injury record that reminds us of Abou Diaby.
I am not trying to rubbish our new Yaya, but this isn’t what we need right now. I feel we have wrapped up this deal since ever and we should have seen the signatures of the likes of Higuain, Ceaser, Williams et al to add steel and precision to the gunners. I expect greater news before the end of the week.
Don’t be surprised to see Sanogo play only in the Capital One cup or even loaned to a lower side. His acquisition brings to question the availability and condition of Joey Campbell that was bought last season, Benik Afobe and Chuks Aneke that have been in the setup longer and even Ryo Miyachi, Thomas Eisfield, Serge Gnabry.
It is high time Wenger gave Thomas Eisfeld a chance in the first team. He has come of age and is matured. Go and watch that Reading 5-7 Arsenal game in the Capital One and see his impact after being subbed in.

I truly do wish he lives up to expectation but personally I don’t expect anything from him, so I wont be disappointed if he doesn’t make his mark at the Emirates.
Welcome Yaya Sanago.
