In the last 5 days or even more, i have perused the internet every 6 hours waiting for a confirmation that Arsenal have completed the signing of Mohamed El Neny. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. So many tweeps have drafted tweets, deleted same and drafted another, but the Egyptian is yet to be a Gunner. Stories have it that he has already completed his medicals, obtained a work permit  (after appeal) but is awaiting visa to be in London. Hope we will not wait till Feb 2 like that of Arshavin. We need El Neny before we face Sunderland.

There were victories for the Liverpool sides in the first leg of the Capital One cup semifinal. Liverpool beat stoke by a lone goal while Everton defeated Manchester City by 2-1. Liverpool and Everton both lost key players in their wins – Lovren, Coutinho and Coleman. There were goals for Lukaku and Messi last night. The latter grabbed 2 goals and 2 assists as Barcelona came from behind to defeat Espanyol. Too many funny things happen in La Liga.

You all know Benitez have lost his job at Real Madrid. Zidane has been appointed to lead the team. Pepe will surely be motivated by his infamous headbutt at the Worldcup. Hopefully, the price tag of Gareth Bale is never brought up – it pisses Ronaldo off.

It was a sad day in Nigeria Football yesterday after the Nigeria Football Federation lost its head of protocol to the cold hands of some gunmen in the early hours of yesterday. Rest in Peace Ibrahim Abubakar.

The CHAN Eagles played out a 1-1 draw with Angola in preparation of the 2016 CHAN hosted by Rwanda. That was their second friendly after they defeated a local South African side by 3-0 few days ago. The 23 invited CHAN Eagles will hope to surpass the bronze medal they picked up two years ago.
