There is no better news to a Nigerian Gooner than seeing a Nigerian join the Gunners. In recent times we have had Nwakali and Chukwueze snapped up by Arsenal. We have also seen Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom (on loan to Hull City) but  every Nigerian – Arsenal supporters or not – are happy to see Asisat Oshoala join the Arsenal Ladies.

Asisat Oshoala

The 2015 BBC Women Footballer of the Year joined from Liverpool where she scored 3 goals in 12 league appearances. The 21 year-old is the first player from Africa to feature in the Women’s Super League.

Nobody will forget her impact in the 2014 FIFA U-20 World Cup where she was voted the player of the tournament. She also was voted player of the tournament in the 2014 African Women’s Championship. Her pace and intelligence has made her a key member of the Super Falcons. Could she be greater than legendary Perpetua Nkwocha?

We wish her the best at Arsenal.

Oooh to be a Nigerian Gooner.
