It is the international break – Yipee!!!! unless you play in the NPFL – sighs.

After spending weeks with 22 NPFL players, Coach Samson Siasia has selected just 6 players from the league. I look forward to a time when clubs will be able to stop this waste of time. But for now, the final list for the first game against Egypt in Kaduna is below.

Goalkeepers: Carl Ikeme (Wolverhampton Wanderers, England), Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United, South Africa), Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Sunshine Stars)

Defenders: Efe Ambrose (Celtic FC, Scotland), Abdullahi Shehu (Uniao da Madeira, Portugal); Elderson Echiejile (AS Monaco, France), Stanley Amuzie (Olhanense FC, Portugal), Godfrey Oboabona (Caykur Rizespor, Turkey), Kalu Orji (Rangers), Chibuzor Okonkwo (Ifeanyi Ubah FC), Etim Matthew (Rangers).

Midfielders: Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy), John Mikel Obi (Chelsea, England), Kelechi
Iheanacho (Manchester City, England), Azubuike Okechukwu (Yeni Matalyspor, Turkey) Ifeanyi Matthew (Kano Pillars), Etebo Oghenekaro.

Forwards: Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow, Russia), Moses Simon (KAA Gent, Belgium),
Victor Moses (West Ham United, England), Aminu Umar (Osmanlispor FK, Turkey), Onion Ighalo (Watford FC, England), Aaron Samuel (CSKA Moscow, Russia), Alex Iwobi (Arsenal FC, England), Fanendo Adi (Portland Timbers, USA).

Full training begins this morning in Abuja before the team will head out to Kaduna for further training. The last time Nigeria played in Kaduna, there were complains about the pitch. Irrespective of the pitch condition, a draw will be seen as a defeat.

Enjoy.
