The battle line has been drawn in the CAF Champions League with Nigerian Champions Enyimba FC of Aba to face Zamalek of Egypt. The Peoples Elephant who saw off Etoile du Sahel in the previous round will also face ES Setif of Algeria and Sundowns of South Africa in group B.
Meanwhile eight-time African champions Al Ahly will take on Asec Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire, Zesco United of Zambia and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in Group A.
Group A
- Zesco United (Zambia)
- Al Ahly (Egypt)
- Asec Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire)
- Wydad Casablanca (Morocco)
Group B
- Enyimba (Nigeria)
- Zamalek (Egypt)
- ES Setif (Algeria)
- Sundowns (South Africa)
Enyimba wil host Zamalek in the first game of the group stage on 17 June, 2016. Can the Aba Township stadium be ready before then? Most likely the game will be played in Port Harcourt no thanks to the rains which will slow down the work in Aba.
Can Enyimba win their third Champions League title to face a team from Madrid in the World Club Cup?
