Dusting the cyber-webs on this blog. *Coughs* But why the inactivity?

Maybe, I was pondering over Rob Holding from Bolton. He joined Arsenal last week and was handed Aaron Ramsey’s former Jersey number 16. That is a clear indication of first team involvement. Is he going to be 4th choice, 3rd choice or loaned out?

Maybe, I was going through Arsenal’s team to the USA. There is no Sanogo on the team. Is this his end with the Gunners. Another loan move? Szczesny is not with the team either; another loan in Rome is on the cards. Metersacker will be out for 5 months and thus not in the team. Gabriel also has tonsillitis. The season is yet to begin and Arsenal already have players on the treatment table.

Maybe, I am worried about the options at the back. No Koscielny, No Metersacker, No Gabriel, how will the Gunners cope with the MLS All Stars. Remember Drogba, there will be David Silva and all the Europe run-aways. Can Chambers marshal the defence with the help of Bielik? Will Coquelin play at the back? I heard he trained at centre back yesterday.

Maybe, I was lost in thoughts about how Nigeria will not be defending her CAF U-20 AFCON. How they lost 3-4 to Sudan at the Teslim Balogun looks like a perfect Hollywood movie. There were administrative concerns and the rains had its way last Saturday. Under the rain, I stood watching the Flying Eagles as they could not hold on to a 2-1 first leg victory. They crashed out at the last hurdle. They will miss the FIFA U-20WC next year – Sad stuff. Arsenal’s Nwakali and Wolfsburg’s Osimhen could not help with the latter responsible for missing a couple of sitters. You win some, you lose some.

Maybe, I am still surprised at the result from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium where Rangers failed to defeat Lobi Stars and thus lost top spot to Wikki Tourists. I was more surprised with the events after the Oriental Derby in Owerri between Heartland and FC IfeanyiUbah. The LMC is yet to discipline anyone yet. Heartland look doomed for relegation just like Ikorodu United who also failed to win their hime game thus gifting Nasarawa United their first away points of the season.

Maybe, I was indifferent about Infantino’s visit to Nigeria. The FIFA president and Secretary General Fatma were in Abuja for a 2-day working visits and I was disappointed that Giwa was not found to welcome the boss *Smile*. The NFF President Amaju Pinnick was on ground all through the visit. I didn’t see the CAF president. I didn’t see any FA president from any Francophone African country. Is there a hidden agenda? Well, there was an exhibition game for the President and he also met President Buhari. We hope to see the effect of this visit.

Maybe, I was lost in imagining how Victor Ezeji could have watched with disgust or jealousy or hatred or surprise as Joseph Yobo was unveiled as the NPFL ambassador by Infantino and the LMC. His 20 years looks like a waste. Maybe Yobo has more selling power. Maybe two ambassadors would have been better. Who would Yobo play for in the NPFL. Do we have a degree of sentiment in how we make some choices? Imagine Mikel as the Olympics captain of Nigeria. What happened to other veteran athletes in the team that have been to more than 4 Olympics. Welcome to Nigeria.

Maybe, I am excited about the progress of Crown FC in the Nigeria Federation Cup. They are in the semifinals after knocking out NPFL table toppers Wikki Tourists in the quarter finals. Current holders Akwa United were eliminated by Nasarawa United via penalties. What is the story with FC IfeanyiUbah?

Maybe, I am looking forward to the Olympics, Premier League, the Fantasy Premier League, the Arsenal USA Tour, the FA Cup 4th substitution, the new rules with respect to officiating, the NPFL All stars tour to Spain, the Pre-seasons in Europe and many more.

Maybe, Arsenal will sign another play. Welcome Xhaka, Asano and Holding.

Have a nice day and don’t worry your head.
