The US Tour has come to an end for the Gunners. It all started with the game against the MLS All Stars on Friday before the game against Chivas Guadalajara in the wee hours of Monday morning – akin to Sunday night in the states. Guadalajara – a mouth full of a name.
Joel Campbell opened scoring from the spot in the 11th minute against the MLS All Stars that had Legendary Pirlo, David Villa, Dos Santos and Nemesis Didier Drogba. The Ivorien ex-international continued his scoring run against Arsenal as he grabbed the equalizer on the stroke of half time despite having to strike three times in a row. The Drog continues to haunt Wenger’s Arsenal.
Chuba Akpom got the winner 3 minutes from time. I wonder if he would done the greens of Nigeria. It was a good work out for the lad. Cazorla and Ospina were the only gunners that didn’t feature.
Akpom continued his preseason scoring run as he grabbed Arsenal’s 3rd goal against Chivas Guadalajara. The game ended 3-1 with Holding scoring the opening goal and Chamberlain with his second preseason goal. The Mexicans got a consolation from the penalty spot. What of Walcott?
Between the games, Arsenal launched their 2nd and 3rd kits of the season. I love the 3rd kit. Let me check my bank account.
Next up is Viking FK on Friday.
So that is all for Arsenal today. See you on the Moro.
