According to Squawka, Mesut Ozil has been named as the Champions League Player of the Week after his stunning goal gave Arsenal a 3-2 win over Ludogorets in Bulgaria.

The German latched unto a through pass from Mohammed El Neny, raced on towards goal, chipped the onrushing goalkeeper on the edge of the box before making two defenders sweep the green pitch with their bodies and tapping into an empty net.

It was his 4th goal against Ludogorets after he grabbed his first ever hat-trick in Arsenal’s 6-0 victory on Matchday 3 at the Emirates. He now has 4 goals and 2 assists in the Champions League this season. Congratulations to Ozil.

ICYMI: Mesut Ozil and ALexis Sanchez were nominated for FIFA’s Men Best Player award for 2016. Ozil is currently resting away from the international matches for Germany. Only special players are allowed such privileges.

Enjoy your day
