Over the week, reports emerged that the trio of Laurent Koscielny, Francis Coquelin and Olivier Giroud have extended their contracts with Arsenal. It is a welcome news tying down key members of the Arsenal team till about 2020. 

Koscielny has been a revelation for Arsenal since Wenger found him. He is the best defender in the premier league. Winning the Premier League would surely get him some personal awards. Coquelin has been with Gunners for ages from the youth set up but has mastered his game making him one of the sure starters for Arsenal. Giroud has been in fine form. A renewed contract is not out of place.

Although the fans are looking forward to contract extensions for Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. The latter is believed to need an assurance that Arsene Wenger remains at Arsenal. We will see how. That goes.

Action return today with Arsenal visiting Swansea. A victory is needed. Chelsea will be without Costa today. China is calling.
