There were jubilations around the world on Thursday evening in two red camps from the Premier League. One of those teams were action while the other were gathered together hoping for a result at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal finally got their first victory post Covid-19 lockdown. The Gunners lost their first two matches after resumption with the last (loss to Brighton) a tough one to swallow. They lost Leno as well. Very tough.
The Gunners emerged 2-0 winners over Southampton – a team that had lost just once in 7 previous matches against Arsenal before Thursday. Xhaka’s return gave Arteta the required assurance and balance at midfield with Guendouzi excused.

It was the Hale End products that provided the goals for Arsenal – Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock in each half. Holding and Martinez put up a good display at the back. Aubameyang will be disappointed that he couldn’t convert his chances.
While they were relieved at the victory, Liverpool had to wait another 90 minutes to celebrate their first top flight league title in 30 years. They needed Chelsea to defeat Pep’s Manchester City and it went according to plan. Finally their first Premier League title.

Congratulations to Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side. They are champions of England – 2019/20.
With the champions settled, the race to continental places is still on. So also is the relegation battle. 7 more matches to go. How will the season end.
Any hope for Arsenal? Up next is the FA Cup
