I am still exhausted from the celebrations from last night’s FA Cup final victory at Wembley. I couldn’t sleep. There was no better way to start the new month of August.

It was Arsenal’s fourteenth FA Cup title. It was Arteta’s first as a manager. It was delivered by a brace by club captain Aubameyang who dorned the #14 jersey.

Arteta: First person to win the FA Cup as a captain and manager of Arsenal

The season started with Unai Enery, transitioned through Freddie before Mikel Arteta took charge in December.

The atmosphere was toxic. The team was in shambles. While the Gunners stumbled to 8th, the lowest since Wenger left, Arteta ensured the team qualified for Europe and finish the season with a trophy.

Arteta is a symbol of the new generation coaches in the like of Ole Gunnar of Manchester United and Frank Lampard of Chelsea. Despite being in charge for a fewer period, Mikel Arteta is the first to get a trophy.

It was a lot of hard work, a generational shift. 3 managers in season, Arsenal still stuck together to get a trophy after 2 seasons of drought.

The Gunners needed the win in order to feature on the continent unlike Chelsea who already qualified to the Champions League after finishing fourth in the Premier League

I am more excited that Aubameyang can crown his goals with a trophy. An unusual trophy lift but he singlehandedly gave Arsenal this trophy. A brace against City in the final and another in the final. He is Arsenal’s player of the season.

Surely, we can’t overlook Martinez who stepped in the absence of Leno. It was his first trophy in 10 years for Arsenal.

Congratulations Leno, Martinez, David Luiz, Sokratis, Mustafi, Holding, Mari, Bellerin, Niles, Tierney, Kolasinac, Saka, Xhaka, Cebalos, Ozil, Torreira, Willock, Nelson, Martinelli, Pepe, Nketiah, Lacazette and the captain Aubameyang.

I can only think of fourteen for now. What a way to end the season. Thank you Arsenal
