Since the 1st of July the new season began in Europe and players have joined their clubs to prepare for the 2013/2014 season. Arsenal is one of such clubs.

I am used to seeing Arsenal start their presason traditionally by playing barnet at the underhill but the Asia Tour would be the launchpad for this season. Arsenal is expected to tour Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan before returning to Europe.

according to www.arsenal.com Arsenal have travelled to Jarkarta with a 24 man squad. the squad include: Mikel Arteta, Lukasz Fabianski, Kieran Gibbs, Olivier Giroud, Carl Jenkinson, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Ignasi Miquel, Ryo, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky, Bacary Sagna, Wojciech Szczesny, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Serge Gnabry, Damian Martinez, Kris Olsson, Chuba Akpom, Thomas Eisfeld, Chuks Aneke, Gedion Zelalem.

“However, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal will sit out the tour due to their involvement in the Confederations Cup, while Yaya Sanogo is still with France at the Under-20 World Cup.

Thomas Vermaelen will miss the tour in order so he can receive treatment on a back injury, while Gervinho was not due to fly out due to sickness.”
