The much talked about match since Arsenal lost at home to Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League weeks ago is the match tonight at the Emirates with Bayern Munich the visitors. But football will not just wait for this clash, life has to go on. Life went on like it nothing happened.

Arsenal continued from where they stopped as they went to Vicarage road, scored 3 goals, picked up 3 points and kept a clean sheet. It was almost a replica of the demolition of the Red Devils before the International break but all three goals came in the second half separated by 6 minutes. Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey were the goal scorers with Ozil assisting the 1st two goals and Bellerin getting the other.

The victory over Watford will act as a morale booster in tonight’s clash but we must commend the team for sticking together and giving Manchester City a good chase at the top. I am excited for Giroud. He now has 4 league goals this season. Walcott has just 2. You can think about that before kick off tonight. Giroud is becoming the best super sub but will he like to continue in such status? Only Aguero has scored more league goals than Olivier Giroud in the last 3 years. Ramsey finally got a goal after so many missed chances and as the celebration denotes, his wife is expecting.

Not far from Alexis Sanchez’s village, the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria defeated the USA by two second half goals to begin the defence of their World Title in the ongoing FIFA U-17 WorldCup. The last time Nigeria met USA, it also ended in a 2-0 defeat. The Eaglets are in same group with the host for the first time in their history. I will be following that game tonight against Chile. Will the Eaglets retain the trophy? They are the most successful side in the tournament with 4 titles. No team comes close.

In Port Harcourt, The Super Eagles of Nigeria based in the country defeated Burkina Faso by 2-0. Goals from Nasarawa United midfielder Bature and Warri Wolves Striker Gbolahan Salami. The return will follow shortly in Ouagadougou. The Eagles are still in camp and will be flying out soon.

There were no league games in the Nigerian Premier League over the weekend but there will be action in 10 cities on Wednesday. All roads will lead to Lafia and Warri – Nasarawa United host leaders, Enyimba FC, while Warri Wolves will be at home to Akwa United.

Football is such a great sport and it has every bit of drama just like Holywood and Nolywood. The English Premier League is a popular series but their some behind-the-scenes acts that makes it more intriguing. Last night Emmanuel Emenike retired from the international football. There is something really wrong in the Super Eagles camp. First it was Enyeama, now Emenike. Who will be next? Mikel? Efe? Oliseh is doing something that I cannot explain because I can only speculate.

There will be no speculation tonight though. It is 3 points or nothing for Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal band. Every team has a weakness, even Bayern Munich. Hopefully, Arsenal locate that weak point and strike.

Till tonight.
