Arsenal’s perfect start in the 2021/22 Premier League came to an end after Manchester United defeated the Gunners 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Arteta made one change in the starting XI with Zinchenko returning after missing the previous game due to an Injury.

Martinelli found the net in the 13th minute but Referee Paul Tierney cancelled the goal after he was asked to check the monitor by Lee Mason the VAR.

United’s debutant Antony opened the scoring in the 35th minute. United held on to the lead until the 2nd half when Saka got Arsenal’s equalizer in the 60th minute.

The Red Devils regained the lead 6 minutes later. Sambi Lokonga lost the ball in the United haf, Bruno Fernandes found Rashford with a defense splitting pass. The English forward found the net despite Ben White’s late attempt to block the shot.

Arsenal made three subs in the 74th minute – Odegaard, Zinchenko and Lokonga came off for debutant Vieira, Smith Rowe and Nketiah. A minute later, Rashford got his brace.

Late attempts to reduce the deficit didn’t materialise for the Gunners as they prepare for Europa League duties on Thursday.
